If your student has difficulty recalling basic facts, the below sprints and pattern sheets can help your student identify which facts are most troublesome for him or her, and which facts they need to work with more in order to achieve fluency. You can help your student by sharing ways you recall a math fact and listen as your student explains ways he or she reasons to remember math facts. The goal is not strictly memorizing, but understanding why the answer to a math fact makes sense and exploring different ways to arrive at the same answer, eventually choosing a favorite way to remember.
